Areas of practice

Vaccinations and immunisation: Childhood schedule vaccines, adult boosters, seasonal influenza and catch-up schedules. Your history is checked against the Australian Immunisation Register first, so what is actually due is worked out rather than guessed, and what is given is recorded back to it afterwards.
Wound care and dressings: Dressings changed and wounds reviewed in the treatment room. If a wound is not healing the way it should, a doctor is in the building rather than a separate appointment somewhere else.
Blood pressure checks: A reading without needing a full consultation, which matters if you are monitoring it over time rather than chasing a single number. If a reading needs a doctor's attention you will be told on the day.

Minna's approach to care

Nurse appointments are booked through reception rather than online, so tell them what the appointment is for when you call. That sets the right length and lets your record be checked beforehand.

If something comes up during the appointment that needs a doctor, you will be told there and then rather than sent away to start the process again.

What happens in a nurse appointment is recorded in the same file your doctor works from, so nothing has to be repeated at your next visit.
